Breeding Program

Pat Trowbridge heads up the breeding program at Trowbridge's Ltd., bringing over thirty years of professional experience in animal reproduction with him. Before opening their own business over a decade ago, Pat managed several of the country's largest and most progressive purebred Angus breeding programs, working intensively with embryo transplant programs, as well as the general breeding and reproduction. Pat's day routinely includes collecting and shipping to mare owners around the country, as well as the teasing, health maintenance and inseminating of the mares being bred on the farm. Patrick is capably assisted in the breeding barn and farm management by Patrick Cyr, a trusted employee of over seven years. Patrick works in conjunction with Dr. Jeffrey Williams and Dr. Ron Emond when the farm goes on the road to continue providing breeding clients with the impeccable, uninterrupted service that Trowbridge's is known for.

Reproductive services are provided primarily by Dr. Jeffrey Williams, of Rhinebeck, NY. Dr. Williams has serviced the Trowbridge farm since inception, and is on-site during breeding season at least three times per week. Jeff does an exceptional job as the farm's performance vet as well. He travels each year to the U.S. Nationals to provide uninterrupted, continuous service to his clients.

Located in Bridgewater just a few minutes from the farm is Dr. Ron Emond, who provides service to the farm in preparing frozen semen, assisting with quarantine and international transport of frozen semen, and flushing on-site the mares that are being utilized in the embryo donor program. Dr. Emond has a close working relationship with Vaughn Cook, of Fort Collins, CO, where embryos flushed at the farm are shipped for implantation into Dr. Cook's large group of recipient mares.

Services provided through the breeding program include on-site mare management for problem breeders, the shipment of cooled and frozen semen to mare-owners throughout the United States, as well as foaling, weaning and halter breaking.
