Congratulations, Lindsey, on being named one of Litchfield County's Top Young Professionals.  Click on http://www.countytimes.com/articles/2010/12/13/l_c_t_monthly/doc4d06a7bc8031d055991379.txt To read more about Lindsey in a recent edition of the Litchfield County Times.

Lindsey joined the farm's professional team in 2003 as Mary's co-trainer and head of the then yet-to-be-built lesson program at Trowbridges, Ltd.  In just a few short years, Lindsey has not only begun making a major inpact on the National competitive arena, but she has also begun building a thriving lesson program out of the farm. Today finds Lindsey not only working alongside of Mary in the training program, but with virtually every amateur and junior rider on the farm to expand their equestrian skills, and has brought a wealth of knowledge as well as a distinctly inter-personal method of teaching to the farm.

Lindsey has taken a special interest in increasing the Youth Program at the farm, and each year designs and manages up to four Youth camps and weekends, both for in-house clients and also for newcomers. In the past four years, the amateurs and junior rider teams that Lindsey has developed have won scores of Regional and National Championships in the pleasure and equitation divisions, and she has been responsible for bringing many newcomers along the road to equestrian knowledge, as well.  2008 saw Lindsey nominated for the APAHA Rising Star Award, the annual industry award given to the best up and coming young professional.

Along with being an accomplished instructor, Lindsey is also a competitive and well-respected trainer and showman, and 2008 saw her garner not only United States National top tens in several competitive open divisions, but a Reserve U.S. National Championship in the Half Arab Open Country English Pleasure aboard Kathy D'Auria's beautiful mare, Kreme De La Krewe. Her skill at starting young horses as well as creating the finished show-ring product equally parallels her ability to partner with any rider of any age and experience level.

Lindsey has been a member of the Trowbridges, Ltd. team since the time when she and her dad bought their first horse from Pat and Mary Trowbridge in 1992. Starting with the farm as a nine year old, Lindsey progressed through the ranks as a junior rider, becoming one of Mary's most tenacious and successful youth riders, and after her graduation from the junior ranks she worked several summers at the farm as an intern while attending Skidmore College.

While majoring in psychology at Skidmore, Lindsey was also still actively pursuing her horse career, working part time with well-known Saddlehorse trainer Jan Lukens, as well as being an integral member of the Skidmore Polo Team for four years. A part-time job at one of the many excellent equine clinics in the Saratoga area was also a valuable cog in her preparation as a horse-trainer, where she gained hands-on experience in the equine sports medicine and health fields. Upon graduating, she moved to North Carolina, where for several years she built and ran a successful teaching and training program there, before moving on to a position as assistant trainer with Joel Kiesner in Tennessee.

Lindsey represents the very best of the next generation of Arabian horsewomen, and we are proud to have her as a partner in our team.
